Who can access support from Jamila’s Legacy?
Our services are available to individuals aged 16 and above who are experiencing mental health or wellbeing challenges and would benefit from community-based support.
How can I request one-to-one support?
You can request support by completing our support request or referral form on the website. Once we receive your request, our team will review it and contact you to discuss the next steps.
Do I need a referral to access your services?
No. You can refer yourself directly if you feel you would benefit from our support. Referrals can also be made by family members, professionals, or community organisations.
Is your support confidential?
Yes. All conversations and information shared with Jamila’s Legacy are treated with strict confidentiality, in line with our safeguarding and data protection policies.
Are your services free?
Many of our services are offered free of charge, while some workshops or specialised programmes may have a small fee. Any costs will always be clearly communicated beforehand.
What should I do if I need urgent help?
If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, please call 999, go to your nearest A&E, or contact NHS 111 and press 2 for urgent mental health support.
Jamila’s Legacy provides community-based support but is not a crisis service.
Do you offer support for young people?
Yes. Through our Young People’s Project, we provide workshops and group support designed to help young people build resilience, confidence, and awareness around mental health.
How long does it take to hear back after requesting support?
Our team aims to review requests and respond within 3–5 working days. We will contact you to discuss your needs and recommend the most suitable support.
